Yeah

Oh my freaking goodness! I really want to do another podcast! This iTunes 4.9 release has me itching for more and more podcast stuff again. What can I say? Have I fallen victim to the fad again? or is this just the inevitable ebb and flow of a teenage mind? I'm currently subscribed to 30 podcasts. And I love every single one. SOOOOOoooo tempting...

Summer

Now that summer has FINALLY arrived, I get to do whatever I want! (within certain bounds, of course) . Summer provides me an opportunity to learn whatever I want. I can grow in just about any direction. This is going to be awesome! My first project includes the daunting task of fixing my gentoo-kde problem I mentioned a while back. Look here to see what lies ahead. :-D If you think you might be able to help, feel free to check out my progress on theGentoo Forums.

General Mood = Kosher.

I made this using Terragen. It's a really powerful scenery creator. Thank tyler for finding this for me.

Movin' Right Along

When I look back on the past week, it seems to have been moving at simple, steady, sultry pace. It seemed to go SO slowly while during the fact, and it still seems to have gone slowly, but not that slow... Does this make sense?

The LAN party was a total success. We only played two games. Battlefield, and Red Alert 2 (only two of us could play Red Alert at a time due to copying restrictions :-P ). So Battlefield 1942 dominated by far. And, just about everything worked flawlessly. AND we had a record number of attendees, 7. B01N6.

Driving is cool. And since I'm 16 now, I can get a job. :-D Therefore, I've been applying all over the place. I'd love to have some kind of tech support/network assistant job, but I'm willing to take a job just about anywhere. I would just prefer to put my tech skills to work. O, if any of you happen to be employers, check out my resume. It might be a little loose and informal, but it best describes me.

Upcoming Events

- none, really. Except that next week is basically review week, and the week after that I have exams, and then....

I'm FRRREEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Last Night

of homework... for this week. ;-D Luckily, I had an entire chemistry project to do in one night. Way to go, Win, for putting it off. And, I wasn't able to get started until 8:00pm. Why? one might ask. I was at the doctor's office from 3:20 until 7:30. Yeah, woo. I waited for three hours to see my migraine doctor. That's how good she is. It was freaking worth it too. However, i didn't get home until late, that kinda/really sucked.

Look out summer, here I come, one second at a time... It's going to rock. This I know for sure. I have a lot of a lot to look forward to.

MAYDAY!!! then LAN PARTY!!!! in one day.

All hail the President of the Galaxy.

Monday Monday

I took a sick day last Friday, and did state adjudication with the Vocal Ensemble on Thursday. (We got all Superiors!!! That's the best of the best!!!) So, needless to say, I'm a little behind. I'm pretty sure I failed the memory quiz that he threw on us in Bible. :-/ Luckily, after this class, I won't have to take bible again in Highschool. Well, its not that I don't like the class, he is a fun teacher. I'm just ready for something different.

I woke up with a migraine today. >:-{ It felt like a small needle had been jabbed into the left side of my brain, with a small string of pain that lead to my cerebellum. But, I have learned to live with such things as migraines, so it wasn't relatively that bad, even though it took a couple of hours for the medicine to kick in.

These are beautiful days weather-wise, and I guess in any other sense as well. But the weather specifically seems to be having a fine time making things pleasant for us. The cooler temperatures are a little bit of a surprise, but the sunlight and the green leaves warm the soul. :-P Cheesy, I know.

Finally, pictures will be up soon on my dad's photo website of How to Succeed. Feel free to order prints online; they will be delivered to FRA for pickup. It'll be a large gallery of around 300 images, so be prepared to look for a while and relive the madness of the musical.

New Month

Now I welcome in the new month of May. :-D It has been a week since the closing of the spring musical, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying", and I'm feeling pretty good. I kinda took last week off during school. (not a good idea) But things haven't gotten too bad, yet. I guess its about time I resurrect the old blog. It has been long dead, so why not come back now. I don't think I'll be doing a podcast, tho. I think those days are gone for good. There are too many other podcasts now, it was fun while it laster, tho. :-/

Moving on, I saw Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe yesterday. Well, it didn't stick to the book, but I didn't really expect it to. Overall I'd say it was good. They did do a wonderful job of keeping the random hilarity that Douglas Adams intended in his novel. They kept plenty of small detail events in the plot, but the overall storyline deviated a good bit from the book. I recommend it... Go see it, then be inspired to read the book. I will definitely be picking up the book again sometime this week.

I can drive, this is fun. And, as always, life plows onward.

Though for the departed (show) we shed a mournful tear...

Inspiration

well guys, I have a new inspiration for podcasting now. I have been quoted in a featured story at PBS's Newshour Site. "Podcasting Power for the People" quoted me several times concerning the teenage podcasting society. :-D Pretty cool, eh? :-P I reckon this means I better get back on the band-wagon and podcast-away. Look toward a Friday night podcast... ;-) I shall say no more.

Computer Talk:

My Debian file-server crashed over the weekend. :-( I needed a quick-fix, so I installed Mandrake 10.1 with a samba server. Pretty easygoing right? This hopefully won't be permanent, seeing as it didn't really fix anything. SWAT/Samba is pretty messed up (a thorn in my side, no doubt). I'll probably be switching to a gentoo server mainly because I know/love gentoo. Until then, all my music files will just sit on an unused Hard Drive. :-(

Ramblings

Well, I'm back with some more ramblings. I hope I haven't ruined my old crowd. :-P Although, I don't blame you for leaving. But hey, I actually have a full podcast now.

Get the podcast here. 19:35 | 16 Mb | 112k

Podcast Notes:

Opening Song: "Happy Daze" by Jeep Jazz Project.

Fun Stuff:

Toy Hostage: It's going to be kinda sad if he's really a person...

Q&A with Emmanuel Goldstein.
Hacking is, very simply, asking a lot of questions and refusing to stop asking. This is why computers are perfect for inquisitive people -- they don't tell you to shut up when you keep asking questions or inputting commands over and over and over. But hacking doesn't have to confine itself to computers. Anyone with an inquisitive mind, a sense of adventure and strong beliefs in free speech and the right to know most definitely has a bit of the hacker spirit in them.

Q&A with IBM's Charles Palmer.
Hacking is unauthorized use of computer and network resources. (The term "hacker" originally meant a very gifted programmer. In recent years though, with easier access to multiple systems, it now has negative implications.

Forever

It has been forever. I know. I've found other things to do. Such as gaming, music making, school (of course). Maybe I've moved on... No clue. But Tyler yelled at me today (not literally) telling me to update. So, this is what I did last night instead of my homework... :-/ I did end up getting it finished in the morning.

Wow, the quality looks aweful here, but just view it in a new window. (click on it.) Indeed, Battlefield 1942 has taken off with me again. Alas, it is terribly fun.

The Daily Grind Podcast

Somehow, something in me told me to do a podcast. its nothing special, but its better than the "nothing" that i've done. :-/

Get the podcast here. 14.5 MB | 16:56 | @112kbps

Production notes:

Ha, production notes.

First song: "I am Back" by Mr. Projectile. on the album "Sinking".

Not too much else went on in this one. :-P o well.

I did throw in a WONDERFUL picture from space. Yes, i spent some time searching NASA's "photoblog". The coolest things, happen in space. But, you'll have to view it from the album art. The picture is of a certain flower, which, let's just say, I'm handing to you, the listeners. (Awwww..) Whatever that means...

Let's see how long this habbit will last.

As for the RSS feed... IT'S BACK UP!!

Procrastination

What a tough opponent. here I am, putting off my homework even more! Yet I know that i need sleep, so I must get everything done. No time for fun. I feel like my blog is going to waste. As well as the podcast. Either A: my interests have moved elsewhere, or B: just no time to do everything i love doing. I know I'd really like to keep the podcast up. i really enjoyed doing them. I am torn.

I also have a creative writing article to write for history. One would think: "Win, that oughta be an easy thing to do, you're so creative..." And that would make sense, but somehow i can't force creativity to spew out of my mind right now.

This is the way we put out the candel.
Farwell to childhood.
Deep in the wild wood a fire goes out,
Now we are grown up?

This is the way we pull up the anchor.
Goodbye to romance.
Out on the ocean a good ship is lost.
And what are we left with,
Now we are grown up?

Salmo 150

HAHA!! We're singing "Salmo 150" Chorus right now. This song rocks, so for my audio-byte for the day. I shall let you hear a really cool song. (Brother and Sister: YEA! i get to sing the song that you sang! Did you sing this sister?)

Forget those old files. I have the DLHS Chorus right here.

** Sorry, the link is fixed. I've been out for most of the weekend. i put "Slamo" in the link file name instead of "Salmo". :-/

A podcast...

Dare I say, that I have a podcast? I do, but alas, its just like 3 minutes. my brother assures me that it's better to do a small one than to do nothing at all. AND it IS the DAILY Grind. So, even if i have to keep it small. I will do a podcast. :-)

Get it here. No specs, its about 64k, i think.

No notes, its just an update. I come before you humbly with hardly anything. :-/

**Edit: There is something wrong with the RSS feed. it's something with blogger, not feedburner. Blogger.com isn't creating the atom.xml file like it should be. >:-{ I'll be sending in a letter soon.

I know, i know...

I haven't done a podcast, or updated my blog. I know. Its just not cool when it takes up SO much time, and i don't know where it goes. This is the very first time i've been on my computer all afternoon. :-( i know that I need to be giving more effort to school than I have in the past. and I'm really going to do that this semester. There is so much to do, so very much. And podcasting is not top priority right now. I'm slightly ashamed, but i have no idea how others can find time to do it. I might just have to revamp and only do a weekly podcast. That just might be the ticket! I could do it on a Friday, no homework, and it would be after any fun activities.

Today was a generally good day. After school was when it got emotionally rough. I'm not sure why, I just felt down. It might be lack of sleep, which is why I'm going to bed in 5 minutes. i just thought I'd let you all know that i am NOT dead. i'm am still alive... just not updating my blog. :'-( Goodnight.
